SWOOP -THEMED CRAFT AND PLAY

Here are a few Swoop related things we've enjoyed doing together. The Swooping Magpie activity sheet can be found at the top of the page - it's a huge hit at home and in the classroom. My son loved the process of blowing and painting eggs to look like magpie eggs and can't wait to make more for Easter. I couldn't resist putting an Australian spin on nest cookies and choosing magpie egg coloured chocolate eggs. And of course, I had to share my homemade magpie wings which I made for the launch and which accompany me on all my school visits and events.
UNDER THE MOONLIGHT-THEMED CRAFT AND PLAY

OK, so please don't look too closely at my pegdoll moose! Why did I thought using a hot glue gun to make his face, antlers and legs was a good idea? He's such a mess, but it was a fun challenge to make! Making your own moose antlers (template at the top of the page) or felt Christmas decorations are fantastic classroom activities. I love setting up 'invitation to play' scenes for my son, and waiting to see what he does with them. What could be better than a scene right out of my own book Under the Moonlight?! Why don't you try re-telling Moose's story with a tub of snow and some mini creatures?
